Grayson Greiner, a rookie from South Carolina, tied a record with Pete Koegel (1970-72 Brewers and Phillies) and Don Gile (1959-62 Red Sox) for the tallest catcher in the MLB standing 6’6″. “I was nervous before the game but after the first half inning or so it felt like another baseball game,” Greiner said after the game. In his first game as a Tiger, he played and outstanding game. Greiner singled on a fastball from Jakob Junis and went 1-for-4 in the 4-2 loss to the Royals. It is exceptionally difficult to be a tall catcher because of knee problems. We cant wait to see what this towering Tiger can do.
